Years ago, Joe Polish began a business with $1500 and lots of grit, literally and figuratively. Literally, in the sense that grit was what he needed to clean up, figuratively in the sense that grit or intestinal fortitude would make his business succeed. The grit to clean up sat deep in carpets he was required to clean. He began his carpet cleaning business with a high school friend who did not have the drive Polish did. Joe decided to go solo with his business and worked very hard to bring in the revenue he needed. Taking what he learned from marketing experts like Gary Halbert and Dan Kennedy, Polish 's business flourished. He tried different marketing strategies and fine-tuned the ones that worked best. The result was a multi-million dollar business based on dirty carpets. Polish started Piranha Marketing when he saw he could influence other carpet cleaning businesses to embrace success. Many of these industry pros saw the booming business Polish created and wanted to grow their businesses the same way. Piranha Marketing started out giving marketing advice to these carpet-cleaning companies. Eventually Piranha grew into a company giving advice to a broad assortment of industry groups. Being a small business marketing and strategy expert, Polish wants entrepreneurs to embrace the E.L.F. system of doing business. E.L.F. stands for Easy, Lucrative, and Fun. He feels people shouldn't toil in work they don't enjoy. He teaches others to grow their business and enjoy them at the same time. It's been twelve years of teaching and inspiring now. Polish learned much of his knowledge from talking with business strategy experts. Knowledge gained from them combined with his own knowledge and experience made him want to pass this wisdom on to others. He created the "Genius Network" to do this. It's a website devoted to giving entrepreneurs insight and advice on a variety of practical business topics. Educational offerings include areas such as personal finance, direct mail, business systems, marketing, and copywriting. Polish has developed the "Genius Network Interview Series". These are one-on-one interviews with very wealthy business whizzes like Bill Phillips, John Carlton, Dan Sullivan, and even Sir Richard Branson. The headquarters for Piranha Marketing is in Tempe, Arizona. Polish, as founder and president, is often called on to speak at conferences around the country. He is a trumpeter of ethical advertising methods, presenting his views on this in magazine features and on ABC's 20/20 television show. Polish is a consultant, author, speaker, and strategist. He developed a guide entitled the "Consumer's Guide to Carpet Cleaning". It's a resource for consumers to consult so they know what to look for when they hire a carpet cleaner. Carpet- cleaning is how Polish began his entrepreneurial dream. It's what helped him get where he is today.
